The Foundation has awarded a total of $21,500 in scholarships since the first award of a $500 scholarship in 1999. With your support, we will be able to continue providing scholarships.

The Foundation has also provided support to GHS students this past year by funding class and graduation fees and participated as a co-sponsor of the first annual Demon Disc Open held at Golden High School. With your support, we will be able to continue providing scholarships and financial aid to worthy students.

Memorial Scholarship

The Golden High School Alumni Foundation has established a memorial scholarship in honor of Belva Flansburg, a charter member of the foundation, who died on October 4, 2003. Belva has a long history of stewardship at GHS--volunteering even after her three children had graduated. In addition to serving as president of the Parent Teacher Association many times, from elementary through high school, she was an ardent booster in many of the sports activities, and wherever there was a need she complied. She was active in the fund raising efforts of the foundation and contributed and helped carry out her suggestions, which provided monetary contributions as well as other fruitful ideas for our organization. She also assisted in many local and civic organizations and was well known throughout the Golden community.

It is our hope to encourage monetary support for this coveted award, which will be given to worthy students, as a lasting memento to Belva Flansburg.
