Experiential Education Bus:
The experiential education bus purchased by the Alumni Foundation was flipped and totaled in an accident last summer (2007) on its way back from a soccer camp. The boys soccer team was borrowing the bus when they were driven off the road by a vehicle driving in the wrong lane. Click the link on the Links page to go to 9News.com and read about the accident.
Update 9/1/2008:
THANKS to the many Alumni Members who contributed to the replacement of the wrecked bus, we were able to help cover the difference between the insurance money and the cost of a new bus for the school.

Founded in August 1997, we are a non-profit organization whose board of directors is made up entirely of Golden High School Alumni.

This is our mission statement:

  1. Fund special requests for needy students.

  2. Assist GHS students with academic and extracurricular activities

  3. Provide incentives and opportunities for GHS students.

  4. Encourage all students to participate in the GHS experience.

  5. Provide financial support through scholarships for continuing education through college or trade schools located in Colorado.

  6. Support Experiential Education.

We will try to keep you informed about our activities as well as reunion information, and news. We will furnish names of people who have agreed to be contact persons for their particular class. Our current president is Kevin McGrath,  who may be reached at (303)-725-1555. DIRECTORY

In October 2002, we merged with The Experiential Education Foundation. Funds from that group were specifically earmarked for a replacement vehicle for the two 15 passenger vans, which had outgrown their usefulness at the high school. The new vehicle, which will be used primarily for ExEd students (Senior Seminar) is a 28 passenger bus. For more information about Experiential Education, please email Bob Hayes at: rghayes@jeffco.k12.co.us.
